At our next BCN Zoom Meeting on Thursday, March 11th at 6:00 p.m., we will have the opportunity to see the presentation that our newly-elected Sheriff Patrick Labat gave to the Atlanta City Council last week. Our newly-elected Sheriff has been vocal about the benefits of allowing our City of Atlanta Detention Center to be used to help keep us safe – and – provide a better quality of life for the inmates in his care.

Please plan to attend. Information re: signing up for the meeting and accessing the Zoom information will be placed on our website next week. www.buckheadcouncil.org … See MoreSee Less

Is The New ATL DA A HaCOONamatata?

Some would say that Fani Willis is bought and paid for by the Police Union and Buckhead. The very groups that wanted Paul Howard out of office because they could not control him and because he would prosecute police officers just like anybody else.

When she was running for DA, Fani Willis slammed Paul Howard for the over 100 cases of police misconduct sitting in the DA's office. But what is she doing about them in the interest of justice?

And as an example, has she already abdicated her responsibility to prosecute Garrett Rolfe for killing Rayshard Brooks? She sent the case to the state but why not handle the case yourself Fani? And if you think Fani the case was substantial enough to send to the state, why don't you think the case is substantial enough for you to do your job? Could there be other powers you are answering to or beholding to like the police union, Mary Norwood and Buckhead?

This is a case about racial bias at a Wendys and a DA's that the lily white Buckhead powers and heads of the police union want to control, pure and simple. But t should be about justice, regardless of color and punishment, regardless of who wants to control the DA.

This, as I knew would be the case, is a big test for who Fani Willis is and whether or not she will be about justice. NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW AND CERTAINLY NOT GARRETT ROLFE. So what should we expect Fani Willis to do with the investigation against lily white Donald Trump who is supported by lily white Buckhead and much of the police union that backed Fani Willis?

Time will tell so keep watching closely. Garret Rolfe should be stripped of his POST certification so he can never be a police officer in Georgia again. If not, he will simply wait until this quiets down and get a police officer job in another town somewhere, even though he was FIRED BY APD. And even though he had a history of issues that concerned the OPS department of APD.

I hope the family and attorney for Rayshard Brooks reads this post. If you know them, get it to them. His state police certification must be pulled. And winning money paid out by insurance companies or backwards racist Rolfe supporters does not deter people like Rolfe. Bad cops make it hard on the many, many good, dedicated and law-abiding cops.

Finally, no matter what you mat want to think, at least police were deterred when Paul Howard was in office. NOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT BAD COPS HAVE A FRIEND IN DA FANI WILLIS?
